TOG Church History
Temple of God began in the home of our current Pastor, Pastor Joan G. Osborne during the summer of 1986
with twelve members.
Shortly thereafter, this newly formed church moved from Pastor Osborne’s home to it’s first establishment at 122
Beckley Avenue in Dallas, Texas. It was a small structure that required much work in renovating; but the
members were determined and together they spent many hours cleaning and painting and repairing the edifice
until it became fit to be called a House of Worship. During this time, God added to the church and the
membership began to grow.
Approximately one year later, we relocated to the property at 1827 Mentor in Dallas, Texas. Once again, the
building required much maintenance but the members were no strangers to ‘hard work’ and immediately
restoration efforts began on the new building. The foundation of the building was so badly damaged that it
would often “move” when the people rejoiced. Nevertheless, we continued steadfastly in praise, ever
abounding in works. Within a mere 13 years time span, with the help of the Lord and under the leadership of
Pastor Osborne, we purchased and became the sole owners of the land and building located at 1827 Mentor
Drive. God truly is an Awesome God!
During that time, the Lord prophetically spoke into the life of our Pastor confirming that He was going to move
our church to larger location. He even gave various detailed descriptions about the new building and spoke
about an International Ministry that would be birthed through Pastor Osborne’s ministry.
In 1999, we were commissioned by the Pastor to prepare to move; albeit, she did not disclose the exact
location. By the Power of God through Faith, God showed Himself faithful, enlarging the territory of our ministry
to its present location of 3200 Ramona Avenue (which includes three (3) buildings).
God also brought to pass His Word of an International Ministry being birthed through our Pastor. Under the
unction of the Holy Ghost, Pastor Osborne founded I.C.C.I. (International Council of Churches and Intercessors),
which is an International Organization which promotes unity within the Body of Christ through prayer and support.
Our Mission is clearly stated with the acronym L.I.B.E.R.T.Y. (Loosening Individual Believers that are Equipped,
Ready, Trained & Yielded). God has placed a fervent desire in the heart of our Pastor and has mandated our
church to reach the lost, to heal the hurting and the wounded with the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ
(Isaiah 61:1).
